President Lyn’s goal in 2023/2024 was to buy 10 Wheelchairs for kids. By the end of the Rotary year, this figure was totally blown away with enough funds raised to purchase 40 chairs. The exciting news is that on 26 June, Albert St Primary School partnered with the Rotary Club of Moe and had a Wheel-a-thon to launch Lyn’s 2nd year. |
The day was designed by 12 Rotary Junior Community Award students with activities from face painting, hair braiding, cake stalls and a sausage sizzle, along side the Wheelchair races. The entire school had 2 hours of fun and excited activities. The result was that, combined with direct donations using a QR code, they raised over $3950. Enough to buy 14 chairs.
WIN TV were in attendance and aired a segment that night. For a small school of 130 students this is an incredible achievement.
The Rotary Club of Moe is very proud to have partnered with Albert St Primary School, and thank them for their huge effort.
