Rotary Club of Moe
Social Night
Twenty20 - Moe at 6.30pm
Robins Rambles #44
Thank you, Helen Morrison Acting Sergeant and Di Harrison IPP, for running the Club Assembly on 22
May. I was definitely in no fit state to chair anything as Laryngitis had largely put paid to my voice.
In fact, the Zoom system served us well, with Peter Kingsbury, Michael Koch, Di Wilkinson and myself all able to participate via Zoom. There will be no need for Zooming on the 29th which is a partners’ night at Twenty20. As mentioned Di Harrison and I will be at the Rotary InternationalConference in Melbourne.
Top to bottom: Di with Jennifer Jones signature on her programme.
Jennifer Jones
Di with International President elect Gordon McInally
" Not only did an enthusiastic Di Harrison spot and get an autograph from Rotary International President Jennifer Jones at the launch of the "End Polio Now walk", she also got one from Incoming President Gordon McInally, who was otherwise walking incognito. I had the presence of mind to grab a photo to make up for the missed opportunity with Jennifer Jones.
Over 400 of us had a great walk along St Kilda Road to the Rotary Peace garden
Many tales to follow......"
I was pleased to hear that Len Cairns is attending session(s) of the Global Malaria Congress being held just before the convention. Malaria is the next global target for disease control.
Thanks to all of the club for participating in the listing of ideas for fund raising. Lyn Cassar and the
new Board will have plenty of ideas to build on, with club support.
Di Wilkinson and I were pleased to attend Lowanna College to present our “Big Cheque” for $2,000
for Foundation Student Scholarships. Both Adam Hogan and Michael Lakeman expressed support for
promoting our Rotary programs within the school. The MUNA information has already been sent direct to Michael for him to seek interested students.
Hopefully the BBQ shelter safety fence can be removed soon. Stay tuned to announcements from
Barry and Alan. The present plan is for it to come down on Wednesday 31 May.
