Last Sunday morning, some of our Rotarians were up bright and early for a 6am start to help with parking car sat the Moe Earth Market, held in Saviges Rd, Moe . At first, we had to direct stall holders to their allocated areas and cars were lined up at the gate awaiting entry. Once the gates opened that’s when it really became hectic directing the traffic into parking bays. But we managed.
I would like to thank the Moe Rotarians: Dave Wood, Robin Noakes, Len Cairns, Rog Taylor, Di Harrison, Helen Morrison (and Sparky!), who gave up their Sunday morning sleep in to help, much appreciated. The amount raised from the car parking activity will be reported by Robin at our next club meeting.
On Wednesday night we had our Rotary Junior Community Award presentations at Albert Street Primary School, with teachers, parents, and family in attendance. Eight students from Albert Street Primary School, three students from Elizabeth Street Primary School, one from Newborough Primary School were presented with framed RJCA certificates. The student from Newborough Primary was unable to attend and other arrangements will be made. Many thanks to the Youth/Vocational Chair, Rog Taylor and committee members, Robin, and Di H, who assisted with the presentations. Many thanks also to Rotarians who helped with the BBQ: Helen Morrison, Helen MacDonald, Julian Yeatman, Len Cairns, and Bill Connell. A great team effort.
Our next BBQ Service will be on Friday 24 November. We have been asked by Harvey Norman Moe to do a BBQ for their Black Friday sale from 10am -1pm.Harvey Norman will supply all the food for the BBQ. If you can help, please let me know so a team can be organised.
The Issy Dye ‘Elvis and Roy Orbison’ show on Saturday 25th November at the Newborough Bowling Club is rapidly approaching! Tickets have sold well and there will be a good crowd attending on the night. I have also been very lucky with raffles prizes that have been donated by local businesses. I’m happy to say, through the generosity of people, I now have 11 Wheelchairs. My target was 10 so now I will aim for 20!
Reminder to Board members: we have our meeting on Monday night, (20th November), at the Moe RSL 7pm. There will not be a general club meeting. I’ll see you all on 27 November.
The following week will be a Club Assembly as well as our AGM. Please check your emails for important AGM information sent out by Secretary Kishor. Robin and Di Harrison will organise Zoom so all club members can participate. We will also have a guest speaker, NYSF participant, Emma Jackson. Chair for this part of the meeting will be Rog Taylor. It will be a busy night!
That’s all for now.
