"Presidents for 2025-2026
Alan Bishop and Len Cairns

The Rotary Club of Moe is pleased to announce a shared presidency for the 2025–2026 Rotary year.

Len Cairns will serve as President from July to December 2025, with Alan Bishop assuming the role from January to June 2026.

Together, Presidents Len and Co President Alan are united in their commitment to the Rotary International theme, “Unite for Good.”

On the 9th of February, we had a guest speaker, Greg King of Community Radio Station F.M 3BBR, 103.1.
His information on Community Radio Australia was very enlightening, with over 400 community
radio stations all around Australia. All community radio stations are not for profit.
Therefore the radio presenters are giving a lot to the community with putting their time in to work out their programming and then presenting their program to air.
Tony Flynn who works on the same radio station as Greg, was also present and spoke of some of his experiences as well.
So hats off to Greg and Tony on a very informative night on Community Radio Australia.

Great to see Moe Rotarian Dave Wood back on his feet and present at our meeting, after our guest speaker, Dave took the opportunity to speak on his experiences on his time spent in Hospital with having heart surgery.

The Round Garden Bed in the Botanic Gardens, Moe, is taking shape with further excavations been done through the week, we will get there. Thankyou to Dianne Wilkinson and Alan Bishop.
When we plan the next visit to the Round Gardens, we will inform all members so the more the
merrier.
Golf day operations are in full swing, to be held on March 30th at Yallourn Golf Club, good effort to all on great progress.

A Board meeting this coming Monday, February 16 th , at 7.0 pm, at the Bishop’s, Trafalgar.
Our next Rotary meeting will be on the 23rd of February and it will be Club Assembly.
President Al

Dear Rotary Club of Moe,

We are incredibly excited to announce RYLA 2026 will be on 6 to 11 July 2026!

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a 6-day leadership conference for 18 to 30 year-olds to discover their potential, build connections and gain practical skills.

Now is the time to start identifying potential participants that your club could sponsor.

Applications are open now! The participant application form and more information about RYLA can be accessed here: https://linktr.ee/ryla9815

Attached is a RYLA 2026 Flyer, as well as an Impact Report for RYLA 2025 to let you know about last year’s program. The RYLA team is also keen to help your club find participants, so if you would like any specialised promotional material or other resources to target certain participants, please let us know.

Sponsoring a participant or leader for RYLA 2026 will be $1,650 (inc. GST), the same as last year.

You may have also heard that RYPEN is coming back! The Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN) is a 3-day enrichment program for 14 to 17 year-olds, and it will be returning in September 2026! The RYPEN team will be in touch soon to introduce themselves and let you know more about RYPEN.

The RYLA and RYPEN teams are also happy to visit your club as a guest speaker to discuss the programs in person. If you would like us to come and present at your club, please let us know.

We really enjoyed our club visits throughout 2025, especially seeing RYLA participants give presentations to their sponsor clubs. I was inspiring to see them share their experiences, reflect on their personal growth, and talk about what they gained from the RYLA conference. It’s amazing to see the real-world benefit that RYLA has had on so many people.

We look forward to discussing RYLA 2026 with you! In the meantime, feel free to email with any questions that you may have.

Kind regards,

The RYLA 9815 Team

From the Rotary Club Of Sale

Our International Women’s Day event is back for its sixth year, and I am excited to announce that our speaker is Professor Renea Taylor. Renae, a Sale local, is a Professor at Monash University, with a joint appointment at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She is a cancer biologist and an internationally recognised expert in prostate cancer research. A strong advocate for health equity, Renea is deeply committed to ensuring that people living in regional and rural communities have access to high-quality cancer care and the benefits of medical research. She should be an interesting and inspiring speaker.
