Hello Moe Rotarians to a new Rotary Year 2025-2026.
I have the honour of being the President for the first 6 months (or the last 6 months of 2025, whichever way you personally think about your calendar).
Thanks so much to Lyn Cassar for her spectacular two years as President. Your Wheelchairs
for Kids project has been so successful that Alan Bishop and I (our next 6 months President),
decided that it should continue as an annual project we support as a club. The
acknowledgement of the work of Rtn Robin Noakes in also getting involved and supporting
your President's project is also a key factor in its success.
Great incoming Board members we have, these will run for the whole year except the
Secretary will change in January to Roger Taylor.
As I mentioned at the changeover, we are hoping to suggest a new member strategy in
coming weeks. Often, we have made attempts to increase our club numbers, with little
success, so we need to be different.
In the coming two months we will have a number of members away on international visits to
northern climates and away from our winter and autumn cold months. So our programme will
need all of us who remain here working away as usual and keeping the fires burning
(literally!).
I have suggested a return to some fun and less formality has been suggested by the District
recently as one way to attract members and keep them interested in contributing and being
engaged. I am keen to try at this. I am sure we can do this together.
See you next Monday.
President Len
