What a great night we had with Jefferson Smith on November 5th. A big thanks to Lyn Cassar and her
back up team for pulling it together. A special thanks to Jefferson Smith who the day prior had lost
his voice. Plus, he was on antibiotics for a broken tooth and in considerable pain during his performance. What a trooper. We raised nearly $1000 for the Admin fund which is tremendous.
Monday 7th saw guest speaker Michael Lakeman, Assistant Principal from Lowanna, report to the
club on the benefits students and families gain from the Foundation Scholarships we have provided.
It was very interesting to hear about the strategies being used to improve education and well being
outcomes. Lowanna is being used as an example to other schools to see what is being done.
Michael’s personal experience with Rotary means we have a great contact within Lowanna.
It was great to see Di Harrison draw a prize from the Grumble. The jackpot grows.
On Wednesday the BBQ shelter project hit a milestone with a successful concrete pour of the slab.
A big thanks goes to Ron DiSisito and his able bodied team who barrowed loads and loads of concrete around the site.
Thunderbirds have landed for the day. One enemy defeated.
Finally, thanks to all who are helping promote the Men’s health night on Monday the 14th . We have
potentially 100 people attending. It will be a great night of information and conversation with David Parkin.
I look forward to seeing our Rotary Club of Moe team there. It kicks off at 7pm, so be there at
6:30pm please to welcome guests and help as required.
