Robin's Rambles #31
Another good turn out on Monday for Club Assembly. Di H, Michael and Peter joined us on ZOOM,
with John Hutchinson arriving mid meeting. It was great to be back in person.
Di H reported on our Board meeting on 26 Feb. (Minutes are available on line), and also gave
Treasurer Barry’s report. Di Wilkinson spoke about the opportunity to apply for another Rotary
District Foundation Student Scholarship grant for students at Lowanna, and this application is
proceeding.
Len and Alan spoke to the progress on the BBQ shelter. The most recent plan is for the roofing to be
fitted Friday 3 March. The club was advised that the Board had approved a further $5,000 in funding
to cover material cost increases over the last 2 or so years of delays. I would like to acknowledge the
massive efforts made by members to contain cost by doing much of the work in house, and further
the tremendous support by suppliers and service providers by waving or charging minimal costs.
Without this support the project would have foundered.

Roger spoke about progress with the Golf Day. There is a lot under way, and more to be done. Roger
will be calling on members for support nearer the day. Please oblige. I am pleased to report that
Treasurer Barry’s efforts with 17 pages of application for a TYRO EFTPOS machine have borne fruit.
It is “in the mail”, and due this weekend. This tool will enable cashless transactions in many
situations. Thanks Barry. Due to Barry being unable to attend the meeting we voted to defer the
Grumble to 2 draws at the next meeting.
Thank you to Lyn for her update on the President Elect training she attended with Di H. Let the goal
setting commence!
On Monday 6th March we look forward to hearing Lisa Gooding from Energy Australia talk about their
transition plans post brown coal generation.
Finally, many of us are looking forward to the annual Table Tennis Championships at the Bishop’s Sat
4 March, 6pm onwards. BYO meat and drinks. The cherished trophy is up for grabs again. I wonder
in whose cupboard(s) it will reside for the next 12 months. Hopefully Roger and I will play left
handed to enable other talent’s names to be inscribed on the trophy.
Happy ping ponging all.
