Robin's Rambles #26

Welcome to 2023.
So much going on this year. We are hoping to have the purlins on the BBQ shelter fixed by this
weekend. What a massive job this has been so far. A big thanks to everyone involved.

And a big thanks to the team who put together our BBQ at the Botanic Gardens on 16 Jan.
Organising, supplying the food, cooking and clearing up. It was a lovely start to the new year with
several partners able to attend. Many happy returns to Lyn and Di H, and thanks Lyn for that
amazing birthday cake.

Our next club meeting is Monday 23 Jan at the RSL. We have a guest speaker, Sean Paul Smith, from
the Bee Club to talk about an important project they are involved with.

Now that we are in January it is a chance to talk about our social night on 30 Jan, which I have been
calling Memory Lane. 6 for 6:30pm Moe Library meeting rooms 30 Jan.
With input from numerous club members I have put together a photo movie which tracks the club
from Charter in 1948 until today. The movie shows work the Club has done and most importantly
the members involved. There are so many familiar faces, which pull at the nostalgia heart strings. I
would strongly encourage members and partners to be there. Boring it is not, there are just too
many personal links for all of us. Even newer members will enjoy the context of the club’s
contributions to Moe. I am also pleased to say that we will have some friends of Rotary joining us.

There will be a light supper and tea and coffee. The Rotary Club of Moe has acquired a liquor
licence for the event which will enable Rotarians to bring alcoholic beverages. No alcohol
sales are involved, rather it will be a situation of complimentary alcohol provided by
individual members of the Rotary Club of Moe, shared with fellow members and guests. We
are obliged to comply with the Responsible Serving of Alcohol guidelines.
If you are coming, please consider bringing enough alcohol to share a bevy with one of our
non Rotarian guests.

This is a fund raiser for the administration and running of the club, to enable us to keep other
fund-raising activities focused on Rotary projects.
There will be a cover charge of $15 per person to attend the event.
