Robin's Rambles #3.
So pleased to hear that Julian is back home and getting better, albeit slowly. Jamie too, is getting
better and hopes to be back with us in a couple of weeks. Welcome home Alan and Maureen
Bishop. Alan is getting over his own Covid moment. So what with Covid, Flu and head colds taking
the edge off us, we are a bit thin on the ground. Despite this we had a nice number at the 11 July
meeting to hear Peter Moran talk about Angel Flights.
Angel Flights is a charity that coordinates non-emergency flights for financially and medically
needy people. All flights are free and may also involve compassionate carers travelling to or from
medical facilities anywhere in Australia.
Peter described his own growth into flying, building his own expertise and then joining Angel
Flights. As a volunteer pilot he has visited places quite outside his wildest dreams, including
queuing to take off behind two F18 fighter jets on a joint civilian/military airbase!
It was a most interesting presentation and the Rotary Club of Moe were pleased to donate $250 to
Angel Flights. Anyone wishing to follow up donations at a personal level can go to
www.angelflight.org.au .
Barry Dunstan reported the progress with the Barbeque shelter redesign in the Botanic Gardens.
Action is planned in the next few weeks. What a terrific result.
The Men's Health project is being held at Moe Racing Course on Monday Nov 14. This project too
is gaining momentum.
Monday 18th is a Board meeting, so no gathering at the RSL.
