WE GIVE THANKS
ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free,
We've golden soil and wealth for toil,
Our home is girt by sea,
Our land abounds in natures gifts,
Of beauty rich and rare,
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair!
In joyful strains then let us sing,
"Advance Australia Fair!"
FOUR WAY TEST
1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Len's Log 15
Once again we have had a busy week and there is more to come. Our Hat Day event was a great success, though I am nor sure what PDG Bryon’s hat was, it looked distinctly like a red back spider! BUT it could have been a strange Octopus?.
Congratulations on Roger’s Trivia Quiz and the way he conducted the fun. The old Teacher and Principal has not lost his edge! What a fun element to inject.
The Club Administration Committee met at the Bishop’s home in Trafalgar and a number of important points emerged as Chair Bryon will report to Club Assembly and the Board.
At my place on Tuesday night the high winds demolished my garden shed overnight and I would like to thank Pash for his help in cutting up the shed and removing same. I was going to demolish and replace it eventually but now I need to more urgently.
We are preparing for our events on the Saturday mornings as I send in Council Permits and Rotary District notifications (new requirements).
It is a wonder where Spring has gone so far, wet, wind and cold. We will soon be in Summer and let’s hope it does warm up.
Remember the Moe Cup event is coming as well as the Marigolds on Saturdays.
Our International team, led by Nathan will be off to our Bali School (Bunutan Number 3) for a refit of the boy’s toilets in the first week in November.
Having lived in Switzerland, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, and now residing in Yinnar, you would expect that the current Latrobe Regional Gallery director would be an interesting chap.
If so, you'd be quite right!
His talk, following the visit last week to the new Moe Library, has reintroduced our club to culture (what next Peter Kingsbury? A trip to the opera?) In fact, a future program for Peter to consider may be a visit through the Gallery followed by a Rotary dinner at the gallery cafe.
With anew website, a new technician, new up-to-date signage and revolutionary ideas, it seems LRG is certainly going ahead! Mark showed us several of the exhibitions which are on display in the facility's 7 galleries housed across 2 floors, with 850 metres of floor space. In addition, the ground floor is a sculpted courtyard.
Keep your eye out for the 2017 exhibitions including The Glass Collection, "MINE" from London's Tate Museum and Films and Video Art from South Africa.
We are pleased to advise that the Rotary Club of Moe’s Project for a “Municipal Marigold Promotion” has been successful. You have been granted $1,000.00 (One Thousand Dollars). The District Grant No. is DG 1733566-15.
The payment of this Grant will be made upon completion of the Project and submission of your District Grant Report (refer D9820 website > Foundation > Home Page > District Grant Report). This must be submitted together with receipted invoices and photo/s.
Please note, to comply with Foundation Planning Requirements your Project needs to be completed by 30th April, 2017. Should you have any delays or problems with the Project please advise immediately.
Finally, as you are no doubt aware, District Grants are funded by our contributions to the Rotary Foundation. Therefore, unless supported by Clubs, funding would not be possible. Thank you for your support in this regard.

"When my husband and I arrived at a car dealer to pick up our car, we were told the keys had been locked in it. We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the driver's side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked. 'Hey,' I announced to the technician, 'it's open !'
His reply, 'I know - I already done that side.'
