Botanic Garden Playground Maintenance Crew

The Community Committee is calling on all members to volunteer to assist with the clean-up of the Playground.

A volunteer attends once a week for 4 weeks, on a day that suits, to clear the pathways and play areas of leaves and debris, pick up rubbish and do a general tidy up.  This normally takes about an hour or so.  The blower, rubbish pick up tool and bucket are provided by the club.

So far this year, we have had a number of members already volunteer.  If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to assist, please let the Chair of Community, Alan Bishop, know which month you are available.  If you cannot commit for all 4 weeks, please contact Alan to discuss the option of assisting for one or two weeks.

Forthcoming Social News

As mentioned at last meeting's Zoom meeting, we have planned a very informal lunchtime gathering at Lion's/Apex Park Moe as follows:
TIME:12.00-2.00  Sunday 15th August
BYO: Everything - drinks, lunch, chairs etc.
FORECAST: 18 degrees and some chance of light rain as per today's BOM outlook.
ENJOY: An overdue catch up and check out the new(ish) Interactive Playground.
NB: I will be there at 11.30 to try to commandeer the pavilion and BBQ as well as some internal seating.
I suggest chairs outside that area if the weather is kind to us.

Partners' Evening at Mia's on George Street Moe.
As the 30th August is a 5th Monday, I have arranged a convivial evening at Mia's, and just re-confirmed this booking after coming out of 6.0.
COST

MENU: includes a buffet of all pasta meals as per our last visit, and a choice of sweets from the sweets display.
Mia encourages us to revisit the buffet if still hungry.
Confirmed numbers by 23 August at the RSL meeting. (If not attending on that night, text or phone numbers through to Rog 0417 388 260).
