“T’is done, Mr Fawlty”. Yes, the Botanic Garden BBQ shelter rebuild and upgrade is done. The barriers are down and shortly we will be in a position to turn on the power. Top effort, again, by the team. Thanks Bill, Alan, Ross and Barry for the barrier removal. Full reports to the Club on Monday 5 June.
Di Harrison and I had a busy convention and came back with some ideas for enhancing our effectiveness. There was a lot of energy and fun in the convention hall and in the House of Friendship. And many, many conversations with International visitors about what they are doing and what makes them tick.
Some highlights are daughter Michelle being included on End Polio Now Rotary web page. Di Harrison as Flag bearer. DG Paul Mee as Australian Flag bearer. Queen guitarist Brian May with the Tenors. Many moving stories of success in the face of adversity. Packing 1000 emergency food packs and forgetting to take off my hair net.
The Twenty20 partners meal on Monday 29th was enjoyed by 15 members and partners. A good meal and good chance for a chat.
We are looking forward to Sarah Cumming from Gippsland Water giving a presentation on Monday 5th. With another El Nino pending, water management will return to the forefront of concerns.

Consider nominating your favourite employee by submitting to Roger, chair of the Vocation Committee the name of your recommendation, who he/she works for and the criteria which has most impressed you.
I will require your recommendation by mid June for an August Rotary presentation evening.
