PRESIDENT'S REPORT
Our meeting on March 16th was a relaxing fun night. We had Annette Mikecz visit our club and
Annette fitted in very nicely during our meeting and may be a prospective new member.
The main agenda item of discussion at our meeting was a full run down of our 26th year of our now Famous Golf Day to be held on March 30th 2026 at Yallourn Golf Club.
Maureen Bishop chaired the meeting and informed our club members of a near capacity field. Roles and responsibilities for the golf day were discussed Di Wilkinson looking after the Catering division has everything in hand. Bill Connell, in charge of Major Raffle tickets says sales are going well as expected. Great work team and friends of Rotary, Sandra Demagistris and Dave Whittaker on their ticket sales expertise. A big thankyou again to our dedicated Moe Rotarians who have beat a path chasing down Sponsors for items for our loud auction.
On Tuesday 17-3-2026, Robin Noakes and Di Wilkinson visited Elizabeth Primary School and did a presentation on 13 year history of R.J.C.A. to an audience of 18 children, with a response of 10 children showing interest in the future program.
The President is focusing on the Four Way Test of Rotary, so members beware in the near future l will be asking for you to inform me of the Four Ways.
Next weeks meeting will be final details of everything for the Golf Day, so please members get those final details sorted. Robin Noakes will also show a short video of High Performance Marketing, look forward to that.
Finally, an up to date on the Wheel Chair for Kids, from Robin Noakes. A Magnificent effort on the work put in by Robin, salesmanship, marketing and a well-rehearsed pitch to all willing to listen.
Alan Bishop
President
Goal achieved !
The Rotary Club of Moe has achieved it’s goal of raising funds for 100 wheelchairs for children with disability. The chairs are manufactured by volunteers in the Perth factory by charity Wheelchairs for Kids Australia. With over 66,000 shipped all around the world, each chair has transformed the life of a child.
Wheelchairs for Kids Australia is the signature project of the Rotary Club of Scarborough, and has the support of many Rotary Clubs, other organisations and individuals all around Australia. In recent times two local schools in the Latrobe Valley participated in Wheelathons to support the charity. The WFKA Facebook page has many stories of individual children whose lives have been transformed as, for the first time, they have been able to get up out of the dirt.
Rotary Club of Moe Co President Len Cairns said “The WFKA project is one of the best that the Club has ever had”.
Volunteer, Victorian Coordinator Rotarian Robin Noakes has the support of the Club as he continues to promote the chair both locally and more widely in Victoria. Each child’s smile is reason enough to work towards the goal of another 30 chairs this year, he said.
