Hi everyone!
On Monday night our guest speaker was Captain Liam Bantock from the Moe Fire Brigade. Liam told us some of the history of the fire station, the first station was formed in 1936 on the corner of George and Kirk Street Moe, then in 1960 they relocated on the corner of Market and Albert Street Moe. In November 2023 they had the opening of the new station.
Some fire trucks have different equipment for different fires Traralgon has a pumper and ladder, Morwell is equipped with an aerial pump and pumper and Moe has pumpers. They also have a technical support team. The Country Fire Authority have 51,798 members.
On Tuesday Dianne Wilkinson and Lyn Cassar went to Lowanna College to present a cheque of $1000 for the Rotary Foundation Student Scholarship. The cheque was presented to Assistant Principal Michael Lakeman and Julia Niamh Acting Principal.
On Wednesday Albert Street Primary School and Elizabeth Primary School were awarded their Rotary Junior Community Awards. All the students worked very hard all year. Doing the program the students gained different skills and it also gave them confidence in themselves.
Monday 18th November there will be no meeting. Board meeting instead

RJCA presentation on Wednesday 13 November at Albert Street Primary School.
Thanks to them for hosting us.
It was a great celebration of the efforts that the students had put into their RJCA program.
10 Albert Street students together with 3 Elizabeth St School students attended as Roger, Di Wilkinson, Robin, Helen MacDonald and Ross made comments on their diaries. Roger explained that 7 Willow Grove students had already been presented in a ceremony at the school.
It was great to see the staff and Principals from both schools attend. There was a resolve that Carol O’Reilly and Bek Harkensee might share ideas for their respective programs in 2025.
Many thanks to the BBQ team who had plenty of sausages ready nice and early. No one went hungry!
The attached photos are of the graduating students and the school program leaders Carol O’Reilly and Bek Harkensee.
