PRESIDENT'S REPORT
Well, it finally arrived — the Gippsland Rotary Golf Classic — and what a wonderful day it
turned out to be. The weather was perfect, and players enjoyed a great day of golf.
A big thank you to all members who worked behind the scenes on Monday to help deliver
such a successful event. The mini raffles, dinner, and auction were all very well received,
and I heard positive feedback across the board.

Chris Robinson, Jedd Murdoch and Greg Boorer

Dennis Hicks, Loretta Booth and Kerrie Davey

Stuart Wildblood, Jarrod Cook, Clinton Taylor
Maureen contacted all three Major Raffle winners on Monday night, and on Tuesday, I had
the pleasure of presenting the prizes to the 1st and 2nd prize recipients. Both were
absolutely delighted with their win and expressed their appreciation to the Club. Our third
prize winner chose to donate the prize back to the Club, which was an incredibly generous
gesture.

2nd Prize Winner - Peter Jonston

President
Gippsland Rotary Golf Classic 2026
The Rotary Club of Moe is once again immensely grateful to a variety of people for ensuring
the success of the twenty-sixth staging of this wonderful event.
As usual, raffle sales were conducted in the Moe CBD for 8 weeks leading up to the golf day
which was blessed with perfect conditions at the beautiful Yallourn Golf Club on March 30 th .
96 players, representing 32 teams, competed, with the golf followed by mini raffles, dinner,
an auction of donated goods and services, and the major raffle draw.
Due to the generous support of sponsors, golfers, Rotarians and their families, and catering
by Moe Inner Wheel Club members, the annual charity fundraiser was extremely successful.
Proceeds are to be earmarked for distribution amongst local projects.
The raffles and auction were well supported and provided spirited bidding. Again, it was
gratifying to witness so many golfers remain after the event to support the fundraising
activities. We especially thank our donors for their ongoing contributions.
Our major raffle winners were:
First Prize - $2000 Bellevue Lakes Entrance Getaway – Jan Curtis
Second Prize - $1000 Moe Betta Home Living – Peter Jonston
Third Prize – Ninja Slushi – winner requested anonymity.
This year’s golf presentations went to:
Best Team – Danny Edebohls Property Sales comprising Stuart Wildblood, Jarrod Cook and
Clinton Taylor.
Runner Up – Dennis Hicks, Loretta Booth and Kerrie Davey
Third – Chris Robinson, Jedd Murdoch and Greg Boorer
Ladies’ Winners – Samantha Caldow, Donna Mellon and Sue Caldow.
When we thank the usual people at the presentations, we omit the real stars of the event. It
gives me great pride to reflect on the whole club support for the GRGC and more
importantly, that no matter how busy or tired we are, everyone pulls together to make each
event something special. This is reflected in the feedback we get from a broad cross section
of Moe, not just the golfing community.
We often consider how many more such golf days we can muster, but it is immediately after
the golf that we (briefly) feel that we can continue indefinitely.
Service Above Self?
Definitely.
Well done folks!
Rog.
