Di’s Dialogue #46
Greetings Rotarians.
What a great night we had at the Twenty 20 Tapas Bar & Restaurant on Monday night!
Thank you to Rog Taylor for organising the evening and to everyone who came along. It was terrific to catch-up with Rotarians and their partners. The food was delicious and there was plenty to eat.
It is quite a popular venue and so the opportunity to have a chat about future meeting venues was not possible so we will have this important discussion on Monday night (5th July). We also need to discuss planning for the Snow Train and seek support for assisting with this club activity.
It will be a busy night and I am delighted to announce that Jamie Hunt will be officially inducted into the Rotary Club of Moe. I am looking forward to this special event and Rotarians have already warmly welcomed Jamie into our club. Mary Hunt will also be attending the induction and it was lovely to meet her at our social night on Monday.
On the home front, it has been a wonderful week! Grant and I met our beautiful new granddaughter for the first time on Thursday evening. ‘Sadie’ Harrison was born in the early hours of the morn to proud parents, Matthew and Sarah. All is going well, and older brothers, Henry and Oscar, are happy to keep her!! We will hand our charges back to their parents on Sunday morning, then we can relax!!
So, my week has focused on family and I thank Secretary Maureen for keeping our club Rotary business on the boil. Changeover planning is progressing well and Maureen has contacted everyone regarding attendance. Many thanks to all who responded but there are still a couple of Rotarians who need to reply to her text/email.
My thoughts remain with Len during his time of loss and sadness; I hear that Julian is back home and I wish him well; and lastly, to our travelling nomads, keep safe on the road.
Enjoy the weekend and I’ll see you on Monday at the Moe Hotel, at 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start.
