Robin's Rambles#8
Monday 15 August we had a visit from DG Paul Mee, wife Adele and Asst DG Tim Wills.
Paul and Adele met with the Board prior to the main meeting and we outlined some of the exciting
projects we are involved with. ( Barbeque Shelter, Memory Lane, Men's Health, project to name a
few).
During our main meeting DG Paul talked about the difference Rotarians can and do make in the world
and the theme for 2022/23 - Imagine Rotary.
It’s our choice to make dreams a reality, where we get up each day knowing we can make a difference.
You do not imagine yesterday, you imagine tomorrow”.
Paul shared information about the District Conference to be held in February at Cape Schanck. It looks
like it will be great, so Rotarians, cease the day and join in the shellabration!
District Sec Gael Traa has, today, sent a notice to all D9820 members with registration details.
Rather than the traditional mug shot with the DG, I asked that we might demonstrate ourselves as people of action by having an arm wrestle. On seeing the photo I realise there is much scope for an alternative caption,
I invite members to Imagine a humorous caption and submit their suggestions by email before the fine session at Club Assembly on Monday 29 August.
A suitable prize will be awarded for the best suggestion.
This weekend IPP Di Harrison will be running MUNA at Nossal High School, Berwick.
Di puts a huge amount of effort into this program. We all wish her a successful day.
At Club assembly, which will be offered as a Hybrid meeting, we will get an update on progress demolishing the old Botanic Gardens BBQ during Monday morning. Wishing big success to the team.
See you Monday.
