Hi everyone!

On Monday night our guests were PDG Bill Degnan and his wife Judy.

Bill is now the Rotary Community Leader of group 7. Bill spoke on the new structure, such as the growth of membership, satellite clubs, and share clubs, and a lot of other ideas that were interesting.

On Monday 19th May we will be having a social night out at Tapas 20/20 at 6pm, if you wish to come along, please let Lyn know 0434239744.

That’s all for now stay safe

President
Lyn

REMINDER

Celebrating 50 Years of Membership – 1975 to 2025

On Monday, 26th May, our Club will come together to celebrate a remarkable milestone—50 years of membership in the Rotary Club of Moe for David Power, Ross Maxfield, and Julian Yeatman.

We will be joined by special guests and look forward to hearing great stories from them, as well as from our fellow Rotarians.

The evening will commence at our usual time, 6:00 for 6:30, at the Moe Hotel. To ensure enough tables are set up, members are kindly asked to confirm attendance numbers, with me, by Friday, 23rd May.

Australian Manufacturing Week (AMW)

I was pleased to go the Australian Manufacturing Week exhibition in the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on Thursday 8 May.  I went to support the Wheelchairs for Kids Australia stand which was sponsored by Sutton Tools, a Corporate supporter of the project. Wheelchairs For Kids Australia  CEO, Greg Hebble and I had many conversations with attendees and exhibitors, making links with like minded organisations and businesses.

Any of whom could give support down the track.

We also had the Albert Street Primary School Wheelathon  WIN news item playing as a talking point and this gave me a chance to talk about the Rotary Club of Moe, the RJCA program and Wheelathons, as well as the features of the chair.

I have to say it was an amazing Exhibition, and the scope equipment on display was staggering.  I saw some of it as I pushed a demo chair around the Pavillion, generating bemused reactions and quite a few conversations.

RYLA 2025.
Can Moe Rotary find a suitable 18-30 year old candidate to attend this year's Rotary Youth leadership Awards program at CYC Adventure Resort, Phillip Island on 14-19 July 2025.
Pertinent information -
*RYLA builds communication and problem solving skills, presents strategies for becoming dynamic leaders and surrounds the participants with inspirational speakers, peer mentors and community leaders.
*RYLA is no cost to participants. Our Rotary Club would fund the participant or leader covering the $1650 costs.
*You may know someone with emerging leadership potential amongst family and friends, recent graduates, past RYPEN, MUNA or NYSF Rotary programs.
*Other possibilities could be local small businessesthat don't have the ability to send their staff to expensive professional development seminars.
*Additional focus areas may include local community groups (sporting clubs, etc), volunteers with CFA or similar) or young community leaders.
Please contact Roger, or anyone on Club Board if you are aware of possible RYLA participants.
