Hello everyone.
It was great to meet Steph and Lachie from Lowanna College at our club meeting on Monday. They recently participated at MUNA (Model United Nations Assembly) held at Nossal High School, Berwick.
They were accompanied by Assistant Principal, Michael Lakeman, and English teacher, Emma Arthur, who helped prepare Steph and Lachie in their roles as delegates representing Brazil.
Steph and Lachie were great ambassadors for their school and engaged wholeheartedly in the ‘Spirit of MUNA’. They said it was a great experience and enjoyed debating against other delegations.
Later in the evening, we watched a short 14 minute video with Dr Jessie Harman, who talked about her ten top tips for delivering an exceptional member experience. Di Harrison will follow-up with a survey so we can build on positive aspects of our club.
Tomorrow, (Sunday 3 rd September), we have been asked to cater for an event at Old Gippstown. Thank you to the members who have volunteered to assist with the ‘Revs and Rubber’ day. All hands will be needed on deck as we will be very busy catering for the day. We will be serving egg and bacon sandwiches
for $5 each so I’m hoping we will make a good profit as a result of our hard work. It will be enjoyable too, as the weather will be fine and sunny. Perfect for showing off cars. Lots of dads, sons, grandsons, nephews and women will be there as it will be ‘Fathers’ Day’.
On Monday, I hope as many members as possible will come along as we have a special guest speaker. Local lad, Jarrod Whittaker, (ABC Gippsland, Chief of Staff), will be presenting his thoughts on the ‘State of Play of Gippsland’s Media’. It will be an interesting talk as he will have many stories to share as well. Bryce will be introducing him to the club and Di Harrison will chair.
I will also give a brief update about the Regionalisation Pilot project with AG Di’s help. We need to talk about how we would like to be ‘grouped’. I will explain more on Monday night but it is all to do with the Pilot program for Rotary Zone 8.
The following week we are scheduled to attend the Newborough Bowling Club for a shared night with our Inner Wheel Club of Moe friends. It will be a fun night of activities that we hope everyone will enjoy. Meals will be available. If
you are not able to attend, please let me know as I am organizing final numbers for the bowling club. Senior meals will be available.
That’s all for now.
