We had good attendance on Monday, with Zoomers and members in the room.
There was brief discussion about the fees and charges proposal I sent out last week, which was then moved as a motion by Roger, seconded by Di W and carried. Treasurer Barry will advise details for implementation. Thanks to everyone for their input.
I spoke about my President's “Men's Health project”, involving education and action on Prostate Cancer. The bones of it are still forming, but in summary I hope to have a sports luminary come and talk about their Football career, and Men's Health. The extra part is that I would like to make it very easy for those who decide to follow through with tests, perhaps even including PSA test samples on the day. I will be forming a planning group to take this forward. If interested please let me know.
I also showed some photos of the huge numbers of cans collected through PP Di Harrison's “We Can do Better” project. There are boxes and boxes of cans in storage at the Food bank. I hope to invite Matthew Davey, Care Arm Coordinator as a guest speaker, to talk about how the cans will be utilised.
Congratulations to Barry Dunstan and the entire team working on the Botanic Gardens BBQ and Shelter revamp. We are starting to get “Green lights” on the location and design of the project. Barry will update the club on the detail, but suffice it to say there is substantial movement. Well done.
Looking forward, we have Peter Moran from Angel Flights as our guest speaker on Monday 11th July. The 18th will be a Board Meeting.
