Christmas Party At Moe RSL

The past year has been anything but cheerful and bright in relation to the COVID pandemic however I am looking forward to our Rotary Christmas break-up celebration. Santa will be visiting so don’t be late. Santa’s coming to town.  Remember to wear something red and add a sprinkle of tinsel to add to the festive tone of the evening.
Thank you Maureen Bishop, for organising everything so our night runs smoothly. Venue is the Moe RSL at 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start. Special thanks to Len Cairns for agreeing to MC our Christmas Break-Up. Cost is $25 per person. (Please check your emails from Maureen for further information).
During the evening, time has been set aside for a ‘Joke session’ with a participation prize for those who are willing to have a go and share a joke. Only appropriate Christmas jokes please!!
Christmas Hamper:
If you are contributing to the hamper, please remember to bring along your item. Thanks to Committee Chairs – Alan Bishop (Community), Robin Noakes (Youth/Vocational), and Diane Wilkinson (International/Foundation), for supporting this goodwill activity and encouraging members to contribute items. The hamper will be given to a family who are struggling and need some Christmas cheer.
First BBQ 2022:
Our first informal BBQ meeting for 2022 will be held at the Moe Botanic Gardens and later, the Moe Tennis Rooms, on Monday 17 January, starting at 6.30pm. DG Bill Degnan and his wife, Judy Degnan, will be special guests. Lyn Cassar will be in contact regarding catering (salads/sweets) nearer the date. Thank you Lyn.
This will be the final bulletin for 2021 and so…
“May this season find you among those you love, sharing in the twin glories of generosity and gratitude.” —Oprah Winfrey

The Super Moopers by Fiona Harris

During 2020, the Rotary Club of Moe was given multiple sets of the Super Mooper series of books by author Fiona Harris, who is one of Australia’s top female performers and writers.  The books have been provided to our Club for distribution to local primary schools, facilitated through the International & Foundation Committee.  We are very grateful for this donation and sincerely thank Fiona Harris for her generosity.
The difficulties associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, including multiple lock-downs and restrictions on visitors in schools over the past 12 months has had a significant impact on our capacity to follow up with many schools at this stage.

However, the distribution process has commenced with South Street Primary School and other schools will be contacted early in the school year in 2022.

L-R Aimee Cormack, Aurora Murphy, Acting Assistant Principal Sandi Kilpatrick, Dempsey Ryan and Rotarian Diane WilkinsonRyan,  Sandi Kilpatrick expressed appreciation for the books which will be located in the school library and will no doubt be enjoyed by many students.

The Moopertown story:
Welcome to Moopertown! In Moopertown, everyone is special – in their own special way!
This fun, funny and affirming series will entertain children of all ages.  In each book we are introduced to a new Mooper – Musical Markus, Nervous Nellie, Dramatic Dom, Giggling Gertie, Quiet Quinn and Adventurous Abbie.
With humorous, sweet, character-driven stories and a richly-detailed world that children will engage with, this exciting series celebrates the idea that our differences are what make us unique, and we are all capable of being superheroes when we can see the best in ourselves.
