A great night pre the Melbourne Cup, last Monday. Everyone dressed up and we had a full
team of Rotarians and many partners as well. The Melbourne Cup Quiz was won by Julian
Yeatman with 7 correct answers. Fashions in the field was judged by Secretary with multiple
awards. It was also great to see Helen Mac back after her recent health ordeal. Helen filled
us in on her "adventure" Very brave Rotarian with good news ongoing.
Co-President Alan Bishop and I had been guests earlier in the day at the Probus Club of
Newborough as they celebrated their 30 year anniversary. An outstanding club of 68
members with a wide range of activities and a very friendly culture. The club is a wonderful
example of how Probus meets community engagement with its three word motto, Fun,
Friendship and Fellowship.
This coming Monday we will have a guest speaker, Linda Rowley who will present on Cyber
safety for Seniors. Linda is sponsored for this presentation by the Latrobe Valley Village
through a special programme grant.
The winners of the Melbourne Cup sweeps will be announced and rewarded on Monday
night as well.
