On behalf of President Lyn, I am putting together some words for the Bulletin. Unfortunately Lyn is very fatigued with a chest infection, so we wish her well. Also a call out to Roger who
is recuperating from foot surgery. He tells me it has been quite brutal, and the meds barely covered the pain. On a slow mend now.
In terms of club activities there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes with preparation for the Changeover and 75th celebration on 24 June. A big thank you to the small team
working on that.
At our Club meeting on 6 May I gave a presentation on the WFK project, it’s origins and achievements to date. The volunteer manufacturing team in WA are making 20/week at present, ramping up to 25/week shortly. The factory is running at half capacity. As a team member of WFK East Coast Team I am going to show the project to 2 local clubs over the
next 10 days. One goal is to raise the notion of each club making an annual donation of 1 chair to the project.
Hot on the heels of Changeover we have our first Gippsland “Wheelchairs for Kids Wheelathon” at Albert Street Primary School on 26 June. They are getting organised and their written update was reported to the Club during my own presentation to the Club on the WFK project.
The school has their own QR code on a Promotional poster which, for interest, I am sharing.
We have a Board meeting on Monday 13th, and a regular club meeting on the 20th.
With many members away travelling and others recuperating, on behalf of President Lyn I wish all
a safe and happy weekend.
Robin
