Rotary’s new Area of Focus – Protecting the Environment
On July 1st 2021, Protecting the Environment officially became Rotary’s seventh area of focus, in addition to Promoting Peace; Supporting Education; Saving Mothers and Children, Fighting Disease; and Providing Clean Water, Sanitation and Hygiene as outlined in the Our Causes page on the Rotary International website.
Rotarians are committed to Protecting the Environment by supporting activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources, advance ecological sustainability, and foster harmony between communities and the environment.  This is being done directly with projects on the ground, as well as endeavouring to influence policy and planning for the future.
Rotary’s aim is to empower communities to access grants and other resources, embrace local solutions, and spur innovation in an effort to address the causes and reduce the effects of climate change and environmental degradation.  More information is available at
To mark this new area of focus, the Rotary Club of Moe International and Foundation Committee have been working on developing a banner to promote the work of Rotary as we conduct activities and programs in our local community.  We are looking forward to doing more work in this important 7th Area of Focus into the future.
