Brief Explanation of the "Bonfire" provided by Apexian Brian Taffs -
Moe Apex ran the first event (affectionately known as the Bonfire) in 1982 as a means of saying thanks to the community and many local businesses for supporting the apex community events.
It's major appeal is that it is an alcohol free, family friendly event with many free or low priced activities available.
Tiny children, teens and adults are all catered for in a variety of ways - inflatable and thrill rides, live entertainment, displays, demonstrations, onsite catering etc. Traditionally, sponsorship is sought to ensure costs to families are kept to a minimum.
As well as planning committees and manpower provided from the Moe Service Clubs, local scouts, schools and church groups participate as a way in which they too can earn funding for their projects.
