The "Adopt a School" project is to provide on going help to the Indonesian village primary school of Banyuning in the District of Abang. The school is located on the North East coast of the island of Bali. This remote area is renowned for its harsh climate, lack of water and extreme poverty. |
To date the Rotary club of Moe has provided school uniforms for each of the school's 250+ students, supplied and installed whiteboards in each of the classrooms, provided educational supplies including teaching aids, books, pens and pencils and sporting equipment.
A visit during June 2012 saw the completion of the library and upgrades to the sick room.
The next scheduled trip to Bali by Rotarians from Moe is for November 2012.
