Email sent to: All Rotarians (on behalf of DG Mark Humphries)Response: For informationThe changing situation in Victoria continues with the latest news today of an increase in Covid cases and the need for a 7 day lockdown and additional restrictions.Rotarians have been meeting the challenge of the changing landscape over the past year with a variety of new meeting formats and technology. This will need to continue as we progress through the pandemic. It is important that all Rotary Clubs are abreast of the changing rules and regulations in their locations. There will need to be assessments and decisions made to ensure that meetings and activities comply with the requirements stipulated by the government for the safety of the whole community.Remember we are all volunteers and are in this together. Clubs that support their members will see the benefits of improved moral and participations during this difficult time.It is also important to remember that there are a lot of vulnerable members of the community that may need some extra assistance. Please consider if this can be achieved while adhering to the governments requirements. As per the media announcement this morning the seven day lock down will last until 11.59 on June 3rd and during that time there is only five reasons people are allowed to leave their homes:
- Food and supplies
- Authorised work
- Care and caregiving
- Exercise for up to two hours with one other person
- Getting vaccinated
Please consider if you can meet using zoom or another form of technology to maintain your connection during this time, as face to face meetings are not possible.
Regards
DG Mark
